It shouldn’t be surprising that so many companies are beginning to make security doors with a sun theme. In fact several companies have recycled the design of
others, only making a few tweaks and changes to the overall design. This has created a variety of different options for customers that want a sun themed security door.
The sun is a popular element for metal security doors. This is evident in the Sunray Handbent. Each of the pieces of metal are carefully bent by hand and attached to the left hand side of the door to make it look like the sun is shining down. There’s also the Sunray, which is similar except that the sun is shining from the right side. When two of these doors are combined, it looks like one large sunset.
The Sunburst is a good option for those who love the sun, but want something a little less decorative. The bottom half of this white wrought iron storm door is fairly plain, but the top showcases a bright sun setting in the sky.
Columbia is one of the leading manufacturers of security doors and they make a variety of styles, sizes and types. Take for instance the White Sunset Security Door. This is essentially a sunburst design and one that’s been repeated by other companies for years now. The doors comes without a locking mechanism so that customers can purchase their own favorite type of lock for the door. Made entirely of white steel, it provides a great design with a functional use. A one inch steel frame surrounds the door, while the hinges are tamper proof to deter intruders. The door is 32” high, the regulation size. The door also features a wire mesh grill between the design and the door frame. The White Sunset is also available in a 36” size.
The 32” Almond Sunset from
Columbia mimics the look of a sun shining high in the sky by displaying one inch metal tubes radiating out from the right hand side of the door. Unlike other steel security doors that are only 1” thick, the Almond Sunset is 2” thick and also has a 1” border surrounding the door. Attached is a doorframe with hinges and hardware already mounted for those who want to get the door hung as soon as possible. It also comes complete with a steel mesh grill firmly attached behind the eye pleasing design. The Almond Sunset is also available in a 36” size.
The Bristol from First Impressions is one of the most basic iron security doors the company makes. This rectangular door was made for those homes that have a large entryway. The door is significantly taller than
others on the market and has a high level of decorative iron elements. It literally looks like the a sunburst, with the design radiating from one central point in the middle of the door. There’s also the Aura, which has wrought iron pieces bent to look like a large sun and the rays of the sun shining.
The Saddle Blanket also makes use of the sun design, with the sun taking over the upper half of the storm door. The rest of this white metal door is fairly plain, with the exception of a group of horses stampeding across the middle of the door. The Swirl also makes use of the sun theme, with the sun made of white metal. Vertical Vine shows a tangled vine climbing up the side of a white metal door.
The Sunburst designed metal security door is made entirely of white wrought iron. One square inch of tubing on the outside of the frame provides support while 1/2” pieces of metal make up the design of the door. Four barrel hinges and 24 gauge perforated iron pieces add support to keep this door hanging.
Yet another sun themed security door is the Desert Sunray. The sun shines high in the sky, with the rays shining down on a lone cactus sitting in the desert. The Southwest Mission is made of black metal and shows a scene of a Spanish mission right in the middle of the door without any other decorations used.
The Golden Rim also has the cowboy enthusiast in mind. Wild horses run freely across the bottom, with the sun shining high in the sky and desert scenes in the middle. With the dark color of the metal, all the pieces seem to really look detailed.
Those with an interest in nature or the sun will find that these security doors more than fit their needs. These doors are made from top of the line materials that won’t become damaged from daily use and will continue to look good in the future. They also feature a great design that anyone would love to have on their home.
