Columbia Steel Security Doors

Columbia has been popular with shoppers for years now because of the sheer number of steel security doors they sell to consumers. These doors come in different sizes, styles and designs as well as colors. Customers that want a steel security door for their home should begin their search by looking at the offerings from Columbia.

The classic Belvedere design is one of the hottest sellers for Columbia. This steel security door features five vertical 1/2” steel tubes and four 1/2” steel tubes with a steel mesh grille behind the door. It also has a delicate scroll pattern inside the tubes that the company refers to as an “S” curve due to its shape. A half-inch steel border surrounds the door and three hinges on the side allow it to hang easily. In addition to that, the company has left off the hinges so the homeowner can let the door open left or right depending on their needs. Currently the Belvedere is available in three colors: black, white or Navajo, a light tan color. The color is added as a powder coat and baked in to prevent damage. It’s also available in 30”, 32” and 36” sizes and all measure 80” tall.

One of the reasons why the Belvedere is so popular with shoppers and homeowners is because it can easily be doubled up to create a steel security door for the larger entryway. In fact the company markets a Belvedere-Double that’s essentially this same door side by side. Just like the single door, this one comes in white, black and Navajo and also has three different sizes available: 60 inch, 64 inch and 72 inch. Customers can also choose to buy two Belvedere doors instead and install them together.

The Cherokee steel security design is often imitated and usually called the Aztec or something similar because of its southwestern design style. A Cherokee step pattern is displayed on the top, bottom and middle or the door with five half-inch steel tubes breaking up the pattern. It also contains a steel mesh screen behind the door and comes in Navajo or white colors. Columbia also added three tamper resistant hinges that can be reversed and a larger locking plate for those who want a high level of security.

The Hummingbird steel security door looks fairly plain at first glance, but actually has a slight design to the front. Bent pieces of steel create a scroll pattern in the middle of the door, while five half-inch pieces of steel run from top to bottom. In the upper corner sits a fairly large hummingbird. This door comes with the hinges on the right or left so the customer needs to specify the type they want when ordering. The Hummingbird comes only in the 36” size and only in white. It does however have a steel screen behind the design and the hinges are resistant to tampering.

One of the most highly designed steel security doors available from Columbia is the Alexandria. These steel security door features a number of different half-inch and one-inch pieces of steel tubing bent and curved to form a large design that almost takes over the door. Straight pieces, rounded pieces and scrolled pieces all work together to form an elaborate design. In terms of safety the Alexandria has three tamper resistant hinges, a steel mesh background and a large lock box. Though it’s only available in a 36” by 80” size, it does come in three colors: Navajo, black and white.

Those who want just a basic steel security door will find themselves drawn to the Magnum. The door comes in three sizes: 30”, 32” and 36” inches and also comes in Columbia’s three classic colors: white, black and Navajo. It features a steel mesh backdrop, three tamper resistant hinges and a powder coat finish that resists chipping and flaking.

Anyone who wants a highly designed steel security door should focus their attention on the Vineyard. This one has bent steel tubes to form an intricate pattern on the top and bottom that mimics the grapevines found in a vineyard, while half-inch tubes running vertically break up some of the design. It comes in only one size: 36” by 80” and only one color: white. A steel backdrop keeps the homeowner safe, while three tamper resistant hinges keep people outside. The hinges are also reversible for those shoppers that want their steel security doors to swing one way in particular.

The only problem customers may have with buying a steel security door from Columbia is that the company never includes a locking mechanism with the door. This means that shoppers will need to purchase a lock from their hardware store. However this can be great for those that want to customize their door and want something more effective than the locks used on most security doors.
