Security Door Locks

Security door locks are an easy way for homeowners to change up the look of their home without spending a lot of money. It also becomes necessary in some cases as certain security doors do not come with attached hardware of any kind. Those customers that are planning on looking for security door locks should start by first looking at some of the companies that sell the security doors by themselves.

The China Simto Group based out of China sells a large variety of security doors and security door locks. One of their more popular offerings is the zinc alloy plated door handle. The door handle itself measures six inches long, with a wide rectangle at the top of the and a smaller piece that attaches a few inches down. It contains a keyhole entry as well as a small levered handle on the piece. It’s available in a stainless steel finish or a copper finish and is sold under the model number XDHL18. It fits their security doors and those made by other companies.

Also from this company is model number XDHL8, another zinc alloy security door lock. The company consider this a more modern looking door lock, though it does look similar to an Art Deco style piece. A three inch levered door handle sits above a small locking mechanism and it includes two keys that fit the door lock. Customers can choose between a copper finish or a stainless steel finish.

Securitech is one of the leaders in security door locks, with hundreds of products in their catalogue. They sell electric locking mechanisms, including those that work by keyless entry. They also have a number of high security devices including deadbolts. Many homeowners are unaware of how much of a deterrent a simple deadbolt can be. Burglars will often break through the bottom lock, but not be able to get through the upper deadbolt lock. Automatic deadbolt locks are another specialty of Securitech. These locks install on top of the upper lock and work well on security doors that look like traditional wood security doors. They can be locked and unlocked from the inside of the house or by using a key on the outside of the door.

Multi-point locks used on security doors are also available from this company. These locks look very similar to the Club or any other type of steering wheel lock used on a car. They attach directly to the push bar of the door and look it from the inside. The only way to break through the look is by doing it from the inside of the house. Cylinder protectors are often used on commercial businesses and in stores, but they can also be used on security doors. They completely cover the outside of the lock to prevent tampering from those outside the house. Securitech also offers customers the chance to customize any lockset they offer to fit their particular needs.

Cal-Royal Products Inc. also makes a number of security door locks. Their M Series is the most basic of all their designs and is focused on making it easy to lock the door. A large 2 3/4 plate fits onto the door, with a levered door handle and locking mechanism at the top. They also include a latch bolt that doesn’t rust and 1” steel pins.

The Chelsie series is available in stainless steel, black and a brass finish. The interior of the door has a simple door handle, but the exterior has a large fitted plate and small handle. It also includes a locking mechanism that actually operates a small bolt lock behind the door. Those customers that like the look, but not the size of the Chelsie series can opt for the levers series. These are essentially just a levered door handle, with a lock on the handle. Customers still have a choice here, between the Sophia, Mayfair, Austin, Lenox or Bristol. All of the options except for the Mayfair open to the left or right.

The HIL series connects two different locks onto one door handle. There’s a lock on the door handle itself, but also a lock placed above the handle, similar to a deadbolt. Customers can pick a levered door handle or opt for the plain and simple rounded door handle as well as picking from several different finishes. They also have the option of buying an additional plate that makes the entire product look like one large security door lock.

When buying security door locks, customers can typically pick anything they want. Most of the door locks are made to fit every size of security door since their hardware openings tend to remain the same across different manufacturers. They can easily buy a security door from Columbia and find matching hardware from a company based out of China.
