Novelty Security Doors

Novelty security doors are quickly becoming one of the more popular fads and trends for homeowners. These doors provide the same level of security as their counterparts, but look less like a traditional security door. Many of these are made of steel or wrought iron to provide strength while also offering a nice design or pattern.

First Impression makes a number of novelty security doors for shoppers that want something a little different. Take for example the Palm Beach metal security door. First Impressions’s Palm Beach iron security door is a hit with the California and Florida beach crowds. The outside edge of the door is made with a high grade iron, but the interior is what draws the eye. This glass piece contains pieces of one inch metal curved to look like a palm tree. Those looking for a decorative security door should definitely take this one into account.

Palm trees are on display in the Oasis style. Geometric designs surround one centralized picture of a large palm tree with everything done in white metal. The design is made of one inch pieces of wrought iron bent into the shape needed. Then the metal is coated with a specialty paint and fired to sear in the paint. This ensures that there’s no chipping or flaking of paint no matter how long the door hangs on a house.

There’s also the white iron storm door called the Palm Tree with a large palm tree dominating the door as well as the image of a soft, sandy beach. This door is also available from First Impressions and includes the special treatment of the paint and metal. All of the First Impressions wrought iron security doors come in three sizes: 30”, 32” and 36” and all are approximately 80” tall.

Of course palm trees aren’t the only type of trees on display in these novelty security doors. The door known as Pinetop looks like Christmas Day created out of white wrought iron. Small deer and other animals created out of metal seem to dance across a field of pine trees. Available from First Impressions, this door showcases one inch pieces of white metal curved to make the design.

There are also storm door style security doors with a focus on nature. Take for instance the Amazon, which uses delicately carved iron pieces to make it look like leaves are literally moving through the air. The Larissa has traces of nature, with delicate tulips rising up from the bottom of the iron storm door. These doors are both available from First Impressions in the three standard sizes of 30”, 32” and 36”. These novelty security doors are also available from some home improvement stores.

Bamboo Branches combines nature and the Far East with a small panda bear and bamboo branches, all created out of wrought iron. Bamboo Side has a white patina and looks like bamboo stalks delicately climbing up the side of the door. Bamboo Garden takes the bamboo look and brings it out into the open. The bottom of this white iron door has an image of a sandy hill, with bamboo branches coming up and spreading out.

Mountain Brook looks as if it would be at home on a log cabin or vacation home. Made of a light brown iron, it shows a duck floating in a pond as well as a bird flying through the air. Quail Cove features small images of quails created out of black metal. In the upper corner sits a bright sun, but the rest of the door has very little design elements.

Dolphins dance and swim across the aptly named storm door Dolphins. The rest of the door remains fairly plain with black wrought iron, which only serves to make the dolphins the main focus of the door. Kings Ranch is made of white metal, but the name doesn’t necessarily fit the design. This one shows a large moose on the bottom of the door, his head raised to look at the trees scattered above him.

All of the novelty security doors listed here can be found through First Impressions. The First Impressions doors use 1/2”- 1” pieces of wrought iron to create the design and include a wire mesh screen on the back. Other companies are currently expanding their line of wrought iron security doors to create more novelty themes. Those that want something different will love the options offered in novelty security doors.

Some shoppers may be worried that they can’t find these novelty screen doors in their own area, but that really isn’t true. Many hardware stores and home improvement stores can special order the novelty security door and have it delivered for a nominal fee. There are also door and window specialists who have access to more doors than they have space for in their showroom.
