High Security Doors

High security doors are those that provide the utmost in terms of protection for homeowners. These aren’t the typical lightweight doors that only keep people from seeing inside the house, but fully functional doors that keep intruders outside no matter what. They tend to resemble traditional front and entryway doors, but also provide the best protection around.

One great example of an oversized high security door is the model number FYcd021 from the Wuyi Feiyun Company. This door measures a little over 47 inches wide and stands 80 inches tall, which means it fits those oversized door frames that still have a standard size height. The door itself has .8mm sheets of steel and a frame measuring 2.0mm and is made entirely of steel. Shoppers can also pick the optional customized lock if they want to give the door a different look. Though they make it in one specific size, they also accept custom orders from customers.

This same company also makes model number FYsd003, which is a high security door made almost entirely of steel. A steel frame measuring 2.0mm is topped with steel plates of .8mm and then covered in a vinyl skin that resembles the look of traditional hardwood. The door measures 80” tall and 36” wide, but they also accept custom orders from those who need it.

An even better option from this same company is the high security door with model number FY211. This is one of the better doors the company makes and it provides the highest level of security. It comes in two sizes: 32” by 80” and 36” by 80” though they also accept custom orders. Cold rolled steel is used in the creation of the door, while stainless steel is used on the sill and other areas of the door. The whole thing is also covered with a vinyl skin that resists the elements and is guaranteed to last. The interior of the door is stuffed with fire resistant cotton and the frame size is increased to resist tampering and burglary.

The Krieger Blast from Krieger Specialty Products is renowned as one of the best high security doors on the market. It’s won several awards over the years and is regarded as having the utmost protection. This high security door can literally withstand a bomb blast, not something found with a wrought iron or glass security door. Tests done by the company have found that the door can withstand up to twenty minutes of 650 degree temperatures. The construction of this door is extremely complicated. It begins with a steel frame and core, then topped with an armor plate. On top of that are steel sheets. The doors are available in custom sizes and they can be made as double doors, single doors and sliding doors.

The China Simto Group makes high security door with model number XDZ617, which is made of wood and steel. The frame of the door is high gauge steel as is the interior plating and frame. On top of that are thin sheets of MDF wood that can be stained in almost any color the customer chooses. They’ve also hand carved the exterior of the door to create a series of small blocks shaped into a large rectangle. The door is available in the standard 32” by 80” size or the 36” by 80” size.

The same company also makes the high wooden security door with model number XDZ619. This door comes in the standard sizes of 32” by 80” and 36” by 80” tall. This looks very similar to a traditional wood entryway door complete with a hand carved pattern of different rectangles topped by an arched portion. The steel frame is topped with extra pieces of steel for reinforcement and then covered in stained MDF wood.

There are many customers who wonder about the difference between a regular security door and a high security door. The basic difference is that the hinges are hidden on high security doors. With regular doors, the hinges are traditionally left on the outside of the door. This gives easy access to thieves and burglars who can simply take off the hinges and gain access to the house. Another difference is that these doors are much heavier and look more imposing than the other doors. They tend to look like regular doors, but give homeowners more protection.

There are a number of companies selling high security doors and some are even available from home improvement stores. These doors contain hidden hinges, the ability to withstand immense amounts of pressure and some even have the ability to resist fire. Customers looking for a high security door should ask themselves what they really need in a door before they begin shopping. This helps weed out the lighter weight doors and helps focus their search.
