Folding Security Doors

Folding security doors are more often referred to as folding gates or folding security gates. These look very similar to the gates used to keep children safe, but they’re made out of aluminum or steel. They also resemble the larger gates used at schools and other areas after the building has closed for the night. Several companies are making folding security doors of this type.

The Wholesale Gate Company makes four different models of folding security doors for customers: double, single, door and portable. Portable gates are used when the blocked off area is only a temporary solution. This could be used by a store that closes off an area under construction or a homeowner who wants to block off a room until it’s finished. These gates are available in two different sizes. The first size is 5-6 feet wide and measures 6 foot high, while weighing 80 pounds. The other gates weighs 150 pounds and measures 6 feet high and 10-12 foot wide.

Single door gates are available in a variety of sizes to fit the needs of the home or building owner. The first size measures 4.5-5.5 feet wide, but they also make a size 5.5-6.5 feet wide and 6.5-7.5 feet wide. Once the shopper decides on the width, they need to decide on the height. Each of the single gates come in a 5 foot, 5.5 foot, 6 foot, 6.5 foot, 7 foot, 7.5 foot and 8 foot high size.

Folding security doors from this company also come in a door gate model. This model fits directly over the front of the door and locks in place to prevent anyone from breaking in through that door. While they work well on businesses and companies, they also work well on homes where one door is seldom or never used. The width of all of these doors is 24 inches wide, but they come in heights ranging from 61”-83” tall. The weight of each one depends on the size of the gate, with the smallest gate weighing 32 pounds and the largest weighing 50 pounds.

The double folding security gates is basically twice the size of the single folding security door and works for larger openings. When a storefront has a folding gate on the front, it’s usually a model of this size. They make five different widths in this size gate: 6-8 feet, 8-10 feet, 10-12 feet, 12-14 feet and 14-16 feet. Each one of the widths is available in several different heights: 6 feet, 6.5 feet, 7 feet, 7.5 feet and 8 feet tall. The weight of each one depends on the size of the gate with weights ranging from 95 pounds up to 215 pounds.

The EZ Grille from EX Closure is similar to these folding security doors. The gate measures six foot tall and can fit widths of up to 60 inches. The entire gate is made of durable aluminum and aluminum allow including all the hardware. It also includes a track that makes it easy to slide across the bottom of the opening for opening and closing.

EZ Closure also makes a number of different folding security doors that can be used by businesses and homeowners alike. Each door has its own name and benefits and includes nearly every design a shopper could want. One great example of this is Futura. The Futura includes a piece of tempered glass behind the gate. The glass can be removed when the door is folded or left whole for additional protection and security. They also make the Prestige folding security door that incorporates Polycarbonate into the background of the door.

This same company makes several varieties of Rod Link folding security doors, which use aluminum and aluminum alloy in the construction. Aluminum rods are attached to a bottom and top piece that hold everything in place. It stands six feet tall and comes in sizes ranging from 2-4 feet wide. The spacers inside the door allow the owner to make the gate smaller or larger to fit the entire width of their opening. The Rod Link comes in several styles such as the basic model with simply vertical spacers. Other versions include one with rectangles and others that have multiple pieces of aluminum used to create a stylish design.

The great thing about using folding security doors is that they can easily be removed when needed. The doors screw into either side of the doorframe, with a latch on one side and the main gate hung on the opposite side. When the gate reaches the latch, it automatically closes and lets the owner easily lock up their home or business. Once the owner decides to remove the folding security door, they simply uninstall this hardware. At the same time though, these gates and doors offer more protection than what’s usually found in a security door.
