Decorative security doors are quite popular with shoppers that want something beyond the traditional security door. They want something that provides the protection they want, but without actually looking like a security door. Those customers will find that they have a variety of options to fit their needs.
The Palazzo is one of the most decorative security doors available on the market. Created by First Impressions, the door contains a highly decorated interior space with even more decoration on the sides and top. Though it’s made entirely of metal, to the untrained eye it could almost pass for wood.
There are instances where an individual needs a door that’s significantly smaller than most security doors on the market. To meet the needs of that client base, First Impressions has made the Vineyard. This iron security door looks similar to the doors found on high class vineyards around the world. Two feet on the bottom of the door has a decorative square design, with a scrolled look on the top. With iron pieces and a door handle that looks like grape bunches, this door would look wonderful on an old fashioned looking home.
Those looking for something different can take a look at Baubles. This iron door has clear plastic baubles that literally look like they’re floating on air. The light color of this door makes it hard to see, which is perfect for those who need a security door, but don’t want it to look out of place on their house.
Geometric shapes and styles are also very popular with storm doors. The Diamond is made of white iron pieces bent to form diamond patterns. Fifth Avenue places pieces of black iron at different angles to create varying sizes of rectangular and square blocks. In the middle a picture of Egyptian pyramids breaks things up by drawing the viewer’s eyes to it.
The Art Deco from First Impressions was made with the art lover in mind. This arched door contains a six inch border on the outside edge of the door to provide some stability and support. Inside the border is a series of geometric shapes in varying sizes to provide functionality with design. Unlike other doors, this black iron door also has a stylized silver metal door handle.
Craftsman style homes would do well with the Penasco iron security door from First Impressions. This rectangular security door looks as if it just came out of Craftsman home from the 1920s. The iron pieces inside the door were created to mimic the Craftsman look of varying sizes of squares and rectangles. All of the design is located inside a rectangular border around the outside of the door.
The Kokopelli places this little African figure at the bottom of a white iron storm door. Smaller versions of Kokopelli then dance across the middle of the door. Done in white, it looks fantastic against a darker grain of wood. Kokos has a similar design, though this one is made of black iron and skips the larger image at the bottom of the door.
Daybreak is a little more decorative, with birds seemingly soaring through the air. In addition it has four hearts carved into the black metal on all corner and flowers to add to the nature theme. Grape Vines is a white iron door with small leaves and bunches of grapes at opposite corners of the door.
The Sedona from First Impressions is one of the more basic iron security doors. A 3-4 inch border surrounds the outside edge of the door, with the decoration in the center. The wrought iron decoration is very basic, with only a few curved pieces and flatter and straighter pieces blocking people from entering without permission.
The Exclusive Barcelona is an iron security door only available from First Impressions. A light border surrounds delicately curved iron pieces to create a highly designed door. It can be altered to fit nearly any size rectangular doorframe. The Torino from First Impressions has a strong border around the edges along with a square bottom piece covered with square designs. It also contains delicate curved work inside the border for those who want something a little more decorative.
Anyone who loves the Renoir painting A Starry Night will love the Starry Night security storm door. Small metal stars are studded across the door, with a large crescent moon hanging from one corner. Sun Trail with Agave also places an emphasis on the moon and it’s all done in white metal. The image of the moon hangs at the top of the door, with small designs along the bottom.
One look at any of the decorative security doors described here will prove to shoppers that traditional is long gone. Today people can pick a geometric design or go for something a little more scrolled and decorative. The only limits are the limits of their own imagination.
