There are some individuals who are afraid of buying a security door because in their mind, they already have an idea of how this door looks. They often think the door will have a heavy and oppressive feel, typically made of wrought iron or heavy steel in a dark black color. These homeowners have no idea of the many decorative security doors on the market, especially those from the
China Simoto Group.
Take for instance the XD-SN5, also known as the Decorative Security Door in their vast catalogue. This door comes in only one standard size, which is eighty inches high and 32 inches wide, but this is the same size used in many doorframes around the world. The thickness of the door is just under two inches, which is perfect for a security door. It also comes in only one color, white and it has a highly decorated glass panel in the middle of the window. This design features a gorgeous stained glass window in the middle.
This same company also classifies their XD-SN6 as a decorative security door and it certainly fit’s the bill. This door is similar to the earlier model in that it shares the same dimensions: 2” thick, 32” wide and 80” tall. It also contains a rolled steel interior frame that not only adds protection, but also keeps the attached window in place. This window contains a decorative scrolled design in the center as well as beveled glass so that outsiders cannot see past the door.
The company also refers to the XD-SN8 as a decorative security door, partially because it contains a large rectangular glass window pane. Located alongside this long window are small pieces of PVC laid flat to create an almost stair step design. Pieces of PVC are attached to a steel frame to give this door an extra dimension of protection. It measures two inches thick, eighty inches tall and 32 inches wide.
The XD-SN1 is a highly decorative security door from the
China Simoto Group, though some might note that this looks a little more like the door to an office than the door to a private home. Surrounding the door is a three inch wide border and within the door are three large glass panes. This allows people inside to easily see out, but the glass is frosted to protect those inside from people outside. The door is manufactured out of PVC on top of a steel frame and measures 80” by 32” and is 2” thick.
Shoppers can also pick the XD-SN7, which is an earlier version of the XD-SN6 only with a smaller window pane. This rectangular frame sits off to the side of the door, directly above the handle. Below the handle are small pieces of PVC stacked to create a slight design. Measuring 32” by 80”, this door is also two inches thick. Like all the decorative security doors from this company, it contains a rolled steel frame.
The company also makes a decorative security door known as the XDG-701, which comes in several different styles. All doors start with the basic rolled steel frame, but customers can then customize the door. They can pick a solid wood door, which is significantly heavier or pick MDF wood, which isn’t as heavy, but also isn’t quite as solid or protective as the other version. The carved design on the front of this decorative security door is completely done by a precision computer, meaning that customers will find the same design on all doors. Customers can also pick the stain they want for door. Best of all, this door isn’t made until the customer specifies the exact dimensions of the door. Those who have a unique doorframe will love this option because the door is literally made to fit the size of their house.
Also available from the
China Simoto Group is XDG-703-A, which is one of the few security doors actually listed as a decorative choice. Customers looking for something highly ornamental or containing a lot of decoration may be disappointed with this offering. Though it’s obviously a decorative security door, it’s not quite as decorated as some of the
others. The decoration is basically a curved scroll design on the middle of the door, done by a precision laser with a computer. The pale wood really allows the design to pop without sacrificing any beauty of the door. It is currently only available in one standard size, which is two inches thick and 32” by 80”.
These decorative security doors prove one thing, that security doors no longer need to look boring or plain. These doors are all highly decorated and give owners the chance to combine a great look with the ultimate in home security. There really isn’t anything more a homeowner could want out of a security door.
